SPV Group were delighted to be crowned Winners of The Community Champions Category of the Express and Star Business Awards 2017.
The category sponsors Jaguar Landrover said that SPV were worthy winners of the category as it was clear didn’t have to do the amount of community work they do but they could see they genuinely wanted to. The judges also praised the company for the value it puts on personal development of its staff and its commitment in recently joining the Business in the Community organisation.
We are proud to support the Rotary Club of Aldridge and for the past 8 years SPV have assisted with their Poppy Appeal. SPV provides storage facilities for the stock of poppies and poppy boxes. SPV are delighted to assist with the valuable work The Royal British Legion undertakes and help the veterans.
SPV also sponsor a local Football team- Creswell Wanderers U11’s team. We are proud to offer sponsorship for their kit and team building days. We also sponsor an under 7 team – Ace, ran by our Site foremen Shaun, whose son plays in the team.
Staff support and development
At SPV Group we are proud of our reputation as a first class, innovative roofing contractor. We are consistently investing in all our staff as we understand that our people are the key to our success. With the ever-changing demands of the construction sector it is vital to develop a workforce that is flexible, adaptable and committed to life-long learning. This ensures that we meet the demands of our clients, their projects and our sector as a whole.
Engaging with staff at all levels helps to ensure that SPV’s culture and values are both understood and delivered throughout the company. We continually engage with our staff at all levels though informal meetings, company wide health and safety meetings and team building workshops to ensure that our Company values are understood and maintained.
2020 marks a significant year for SPV Group as 10 team members celebrated their 15 Year service and above, 1 celebrated their 10 year and 7 celebrated their 5 year Anniversaries. At the Annual General Meeting held on the 6th January 2020 Company Directors Howard Evans, Kate Whatley and Adrian Chapman organised an Awards ceremony to honour the career achievements of these individuals. Kate was delighted to present team members with a Certificate of Recognition and a Voucher to demonstrate our appreciation for their dedicated years of service.
People are and always will be our greatest asset. All individuals receiving the Award embody the company’s values and principles and continue to go above and beyond their roles to achieve excellence. The talents and efforts of the team members have helped ensure the Company’s continued success and we look forward to celebrating more milestones in the future.
Supporting our staff in charity initiatives
In 2015 SPV supported our office manager with her fundraising for her chosen Charity, Get Kids Going to run the London Marathon raising over £2000 in sponsorship from our Clients, suppliers and workforce.
SPV Lorry driver Adrian Kinsella and SPV Group were honoured by St Mary’s Hospice, Birmingham for raising the amazing total of £4,307.27 following completion of the London marathon. Adrian completed the London Marathon in an impressive 4 hours and 26 minutes. He is due to take part in the upcoming Co-op Cycling challenge and we’re thrilled to be supporting with vehicles throughout the riders journey.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
SPV are highly dedicated to providing the highest levels of Health and Safety across the Organisation.
We have an in house dedicated health and safety team who are continually working to implement, assess and improve performance within the company. This is supported by all levels of management.
At SPV, we focus on continual improvement both in our performance and our procedures.
SPV hold accreditations with ISO 18001, Achilles, Chas, Alcumus Safe Contractor, Construction line, PICS.
As a company we are committed to CSCS with all operatives being in possession of a card.
SPV further their commitment to health and safety with memberships with The British Safety Council, Rospa, and The Institute of International Risk and Safety Management.
It is important to SPV Group to create an environment where all team members feel able to talk openly about issues they are facing- personal and professional. All Management have undertaken mental health awareness training along with a number of site supervisors.
SPV are highly dedicated to providing the highest levels of Quality Standards across the Organisation. We currently operate an Quality Management system and hold ISO 9001 accreditation.

At SPV Group we continually strive to actively reduce waste emissions and negative impacts on the environment. We currently operate an Environmental Management system and hold ISO 14001 accreditation.
SPV Group recognises that to continue to deliver the highest service for the roofing and surfacing contracts it undertakes; they are to ensure that the performance of its activities reflects the changing environmental priorities of its stakeholders and the sustainable growth of the company.
The Environmental Policy of SPV is based upon three key commitments:
- To continuously seek to improve in environmental performance and sustainability of the company
- Work activities to be carried out in a way that will endeavour to prevent pollution or harm to all environmental stakeholders.
- Compliance with specific legislative and regulatory requirements shall be seen as the minimum level of achievement.
To enable these key commitments to be achieved, SPV shall aim to ensure that the necessary resources are available and that responsibilities for environmental matters are effectively assigned, accepted and fulfilled at all levels within the organisational structure.
