SPV have recently completed the roofing works at the Big Yellow Building, London.
The single ply roofing membrane was lifting in high winds and was about to blow off completely. This would have meant closing the building which was not an option as it is a very busy office building housing over 500 workers.
SPV worked closely with the Client to agree a specification which could be undertaken whilst causing minimal disruption to the building and its tenants.
A 5mm 150 wide aluminium strip was laid from ridge to Eves to each slope @1.5metre centres fixed with TECK screws through the strips, Single ply, insulation and into the existing metal decking to hold the existing down. These strips were then covered with a single ply membrane to keep the building watertight as the work progressed with no disruption to day to day running of the building.
