SPV have recently completed the roofing works at Telford Bridges – a new road crossing in Telford which links the railway.
The steel rail bridge has been in production for the past 4 months in preparation for onsite construction
The bridge was delivered to site next to the A442 in multiple sections which were then bolted together by SPV.
Working on behalf of our client, Base Structures, SPV’s remit was to install the ridge flashings to the new purpose made walkway
Prior to the bridges being lifted into place base Structures installed a new fabric canopy to the bridge.
SPV supplied and fixed 2mm powder coated aluminium support Z’s incorporating a return weathering leg to the 2 no ridge angle steels as well as new 1.2mm powder coated aluminium ridge flashing to the support Z’s with welted edges in 1.5 metre lengths, jointed by lapping 100mm and with varying degrees of angle to suit the roof slope.
While the bridges were lifted into place, SPV removed the ridge sections where the lifting tackle was positioned and re-fixed when the bridges are in position.
All works were completed within budget and within agrees time scales with some works being undertaken out of hours due to the location of the bridge
